More Information

These inmates usually stay in the facility until they are sentenced, acquitted or released on bail. The majority of inmates are serving less than a year term and are convicted for misdemeanor offenses, such as drunk driving, assault and petty theft.

The current building was constructed in 2009 and is pale green with a dark gray roof. The facility is located in Perryville, Arkansas and falls under the jurisdiction of Perry County, Arkansas. Perry County sheriffs maintain and operate the building.

The center is divided into three separate housing areas: high security risk for males, low/medium security risk for males, and housing for female inmates. The center also has isolation and temporary holding cells.

The center provides inmates with a bathroom facility, daily meals, an education program and television. A work release program and other services are also available.

County inmates who are assigned to work in the center’s full kitchen, where inmate meals are prepared, are known as trustees. Trustees also do general cleaning and maintenance at the facility. Center staff plan each day’s meals, which use fresh produce grown and donated by local merchants. No tobacco products are allowed in the facility.
