More Information
Sunnyside Jail, located at Sunnydale, Washington, is a low-security jail that houses some of the worst inmates found across the United States. Sunnyside is under the jurisdiction of the city it's located in. Also known as the Sunnydale Police Department, it makes sure that the activity of inmates as well as knowing what their consequential actions brought them to jail in check, whether the detainees are temporarily sent there before they go to another county jail or if they will be living in their cells for as long as they're said to be in.
The jail was made back in the 1800s, back when the city had an extremely notorious amount of crime. Like every other jail county across the US, the Sunnyside Jail is made to bring in inmates that have been infamous for committing multiple forms of misdemeanor offenses, which commonly include drunk driving, drug abuse, and illegal assaults. Inmates can expect to have basic access to the bathroom facility and up to three meals a day. Currently, there is a dispatch center for the vehicles of the police and a jail room full of 97 beds. Additionally, there is an Explorer Post program for high school students that assist the police guarding the prison.
An interesting but disappointing fact about the Sunnyside Jail is that one of its former officers was sent to be arrested at another jail, that being the Yakima County Jail. Although he was on a paid leave since two years ago due to policy violations, he was reported for making domestic violence charges that he denied have occurred when he was under investigation. When a woman came up and made a statement about what he did, he was sent for a Monday hearing, and he was sent to Yakima County Jail.
