The Spokane County jail’s medical and health unit is well organized and managed. Their health care delivery system is only aimed at ensuring that every inmate receives comprehensive health care and treatment. All inmates with mental health problems are taken care of with ultimate love and care. Medical responses for all ill inmates is rapid and timely. The overall main mission of the health team is to maintain a stable health status for all the patients in prison. Precaution is always taken at the facility to prevent the spread of all contagious and communicable illnesses. The health team consists of a physician, dentist, a psychiatrist, registered nurses, mental health professionals, licensed vocational nurses, mental health caseworkers, clerks, medical records staff and administrators.

The detention facility doesn’t allow any private medication. Any ordered medication is strictly administered by the facility’s physician. The drugs to be supplied at the facility are only from the contracted pharmacies. All families and friends can call the facility and be connected with the health team in case they want to share information on an inmate’s medication history.

All inmates should have funds in their accounts strictly by 12:01 AM on Monday’s. This is to allow the commissary to process all the orders by Tuesday of the same week. Family and friends who wish to send money to inmates can use a variety of methods to ensure their loved ones receive money. They can leave money for the housed inmates at the Spokane County cashier’s window. The cashier’s window operates from 5-7. Its open seven days of the week. Visitors should bring the exact amount of money they want to give the inmates as the facility doesn’t give change.
