Burkburnett City Jail is considered a housing unit for criminals that have been arrested recently. Prior to being a jail facility, the building was structured to serve as a Town Hall. The county of Burkburnett police jail is located in Wichita County. This facility houses both female, and male criminal inmate's. Some inmate's may be serving a short sentence following their trial, while other inmate's tend to serve time there while waiting to be transferred to a longer-term facility which is upstate facility, rather than a short-term sentence located in our county. When an inmate arrives to the jail, they are allowed one free booking phone call and after that free call, inmate's need to have money on there books and use a calling service called globaltel. Without globaltel prices can be very expensive, with an inmate paying as much as $17 per phone call which lasts 15 minutes. If they would like to keep in contact with family or friends it is very important for them to set up this phone service.
Also funds that can be placed into an inmate's commissary account can be used to purchase Necessities inside the facility such as food, stamps, arts and crafts, envelopes, etc. Globaltel provides an affordable service so family and friends can reach them at inmate calls. People outside of the facility can also send mail to an inmate. There is no limit as to how much mail they can receive per day. Visitors can deposit money directly into an inmate's account at the jail administration office, or they can also receive their money through a check money order or a cashier's check. Phone numbers must be saved onto an inmate's account, in order to make a phone call, and they are allowed to call any person on their approval list between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. they can make a phone call up to 30 minutes at a time and during rush hours to call time is reduced down to 10 minutes.
In order to see an inmate, you need to make sure you are approved on their visitor list. They have the right to turn down a visit as well. Also make sure you confirm with the prison authorities before you come visit so you don't waste a trip for not being on their list. The basic visitation rules are a visitor must not be a prior felon, and must have a government ID. If you are below 16 years of age legal guardian must be accompanied with you.
