Blue Springs Police department was established in the year 1966, in Blue Springs. Before Blue Springs had an established police department, the city marshall was in charge. The previous location for the police department was at the Blue Springs city hall. However, it was later moved to its current location, the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Building. They were among the first police departments established which had a 911 emergency center. The police department also has several vehicles which are used for patrol.
The mission of the Blue Springs Police is to contribute to bringing a safe environment for the citizens. The police department focuses on promoting the respect of human life and human rights in all aspects. The Blue Springs police have both the desire and ability to offer assistance.
