St. Bernard parish prison is located in Saint Bernard County. This facility offers services to the town of Chalmette and other surrounding small towns in the county of St Bernard. The construction of this facility was completed in the year 1911.The institution started receiving inmates immediately the construction was completed. Renovations and expansions have been carried out from time to time, to be able to accommodate the always rising number of inmates brought in.
