The Lasalle Correctional Center detains offenders awaiting transfer to jails and prisons. It is located in Olla in LA Salle County along 15976 Highway 165. The jail houses inmates above 18 years and more often than not, those serving less than a year jail term. This means their convictions are as a result of smaller offenses such as theft, fighting, and driving while drunk among other infringement offenses.

The prison is of Medium - general security featuring cage-style housing and under the supervision of armed guards. A perimeter fence and rows of triple razor wire on double fencing strengthen the prison yard. There is 24/7 supervision and controlled movements, as well as electronic detection systems. All these confine the detainees within the facility.

Inmates have access to basic amenities such as bathrooms. They have three meals a day TV facility and an educational program. The program is for those who express interest in learning new things, which would help them better their lives after their release. This is in addition to religious practices and fitness activities. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, the US Marshal Service or Immigration runs the operations of LaSalle Corrections Center but under a private company.
