Laurel County Detention Center Inmate Search

Laurel County Detention center is a correction facility located in London, Kentucky that houses state, county, and local inmates. The detention center is comprised of three floors where one of the floors are for male and female detoxification for those inmates that are imprisoned for drug related charges and need to be detoxed before being house with either the general population or other inmates within close quarters of them. The floors of the prison are separated by gender and type of offenses. Like stated earlier, the first floor is for detoxification. The second floor houses females and maximum security male inmates. On the third floor, inmates placed under protective custody and general population inmates are housed here. Sex offenders are also housed on this floor.

In each cell on each floor of the prison are cameras. With these cameras the prison looks to eliminate assault amongst the inmates and for further surveillance of inappropriate behavior. One other thing that may be noticed in each cell is that there are anti-bacterial soap dispensers and hand sanitizers to help decrease the amount of illness and other diseases. With the addition of these cameras in the correctional facility, Laurel County Detention Center has mostly become free of contraband and other drugs. Most recently the cells have been stripped and rebuilt with these amenities as well as the showers. They were recently stripped down and reconstructed to help reduce the amount of bacterial growth that would further cause illness or disease.

To help with all of the recent renovations that the detention center has gone through, inmate labor has been put into place to help reach these reconstruction goals. Using inmates for labor has saved the state of Kentucky and the county of Laurel from using so many taxpaying dollars to help accomplish their reconstruction goals. With these recent advancements, the warden has been able to equip his security guards with the right equipment to protect themselves. Some other services that are offered at the detention center include GED education, job training, and church involvement. These services are provided to inmates so that a release back into a normal society will not be as difficult to adjust to.
