Carrollton Jail is low security jail which falls under jurisdiction of Carrollton, KY. The jail is maintained and operated by officers at Carrollton Police department. It is mainly used to temporarily hold new detainees before moving them to nearest county Jail. Usually it houses inmate for short period of time but in some cases it can also house inmates serving less than a year jail term. Mail

You'll be allowed to correspond with anyone outside of this facility, so long as such correspondence doesn't violate any state or federal law. Inmates won't be allowed to correspond with other inmates. All correspondence during this nature is going to be returned to the inmate. Incoming mail and outgoing mail, (other than legal mail) are going to be censored and inspected for contraband and/or evidence before delivery to you or the U.S. mail. Any contraband and/or evidence are going to be confiscated for possible prosecution. Mail is going to be picked up Monday to Saturday. you'll be given your mail within 24 hours of receipt as long as it is permitted into the jail. If it's not, it'll be returned to the sender or placed in your personal property until your release. you'll be allowed only 5 letters, postcards, etc. In your cell at just one occasion from outside writers. All mail must be written on regular paper. The name of the sender and address of the sender must get on the surface of all mail. No polaroid pictures. No advertisements, no newspaper clippings, no envelopes, these are often purchased out of the canteen, no stickers, no magazines. All mail must go thru the post office. Only 3 pictures are allowed to be within the inmate's possession at any time, these can only be 3 x 6 or smaller. No pornographic or sexual pictures of any kind. All mail not allowed is going to be returned to the sender. No convicted felon is allowed to write any inmate during this jail. Third-party mail won't be accepted. All mail received with insufficient postage is going to be returned, if no address, it'll be destroyed.

Phone Calls

Upon your admission and your cooperation, you'll be permitted to make a local and or collect long-distance call to your attorney or loved one after the booking process, until one call has been completed. Collect phones are provided in each pod for your use. A 2-minute calling card should be given to you upon booking and your cooperation telephone privileges could also be suspended at any time. However, you'll have the right to a 5-minute call per week. No messages are going to be accepted for inmates. Phone calls could also be monitored. Phones are going to be turned on at 6:15 am and turned off at midnight.

Visitation

Visiting hours are on Wednesday and Saturday. Friends and relatives must call the Carroll county prison to schedule an appointment. Call Monday or Tuesday. For a Wednesday visit - call Thursday or Friday for a Sat visit. Office hours are 9 am till 4 pm Monday to Saturday.
