Cumberland County Jail located at the state of Illinois, count of Cumberland and city of Toledo. It acts as the provisioning facility to serve the Cumberland County, and it's surrounding. It is part the county government under the division of sheriff's department.it has a high maximum security level that consists of prison policy guard, an electronic detector, reinforces fence will and security camera.
It holds both gender and juveniles inmates from low-level offences like drunkenness to high-level crimes like murder, rapist, and robbery. The prisoners are either sentence less than one year or waiting for their verdict or those unable to be bailed.
The building built with stone and the fences are reinforced, topped with razor wire. The jail divided into pods that are subdivided into individual cells but hold 2-3 inmates and also common areas .outside recreation areas are surrounded by towering concrete wall. In the common area, a table made of solid steel and four chairs attached at each. The windows inside the cell are silver thus the prisoner can only look outside.
The prisoners are fed three times a day and one hour for recreation. Recreation involves watching television, reading and taking a shower. They are also offered health facilities like mental health, nutrient supplement, and mental health. They are allowed to communicate with their relatives.
Visitors who come to see the prisoner should be accompanied by their national ID to prove their identity. A guardian should accompany those below 16 years. Visiting days are from Monday to Sunday except on holidays from 7.30a.m to 9.00p.m excluding Saturday and Sunday which is up to 2 .30p.m
