Walton County is located in the United States of America in the state of Georgia. The population is about 83,768 as of 2010.
Walton County Jail is operated by the governing sheriff. Inmates are allowed to have authorized items in their cells Items that pose a threat to other inmates, staff personnel, or the public will be automatically confiscated. Items that enter the prison whether it be by mail or visitors will be searched before it reaches the inmate. Head counts are completed four times a day. Inmates are expected to sit on their bunks and wait until the count is cleared.
Inmates are expected to maintain their cell for cleanliness unless they have a medical pass. The floors must be swept and mopped, any clutter, paper, and other debris should be relinquished. Walls should be free of objects, pictures, and graffiti, beds must be made neatly when not in use, all linens should be kept in the appropriate places such as towel racks, trash cans must be emptied and food shouldn't be stored in their living quarters. If for any reason, the inmates don't cooperate they will subject to disciplinary action.
In the likely event that an inmate will become a danger to himself or others, he/she will be placed on Administrative Confinement (AC) If jail staff believe that verbal warnings are not being taken seriously, they will write a Disciplinary Report (DR) The inmate will be notified within 24 hours when the Disciplinary Hearing will take place. The hearing will generally take place within seven business days unless the inmate needs an interpreter, or requires special needs. The inmate is allowed to have an individual as a witness to speak on his/her behalf. They're also allowed to appeal the results of the hearing within five business days from the date the decision was given.
Every inmate has a set schedule for visitors from family, legal representative, friends, and ministry. Visitors must show identification when they enter the jail. Lawyers must show their Bar Card and indicate what Law Firm they're associated with. Ministries must show their affiliation with their designated church. Inappropriate clothing will not be tolerated. Mini skirts, shorts that aren't finger-tip length apart, halter tops, tank tops, and see-through clothing. Failure to abide by these rules will result in losing visitation privileges. The time allowed for visits is 30 minutes. This may vary depending on whether each eligible inmate receives their visitation. Walton County Jail only allows inmates to have two visitors at a time. A parent or guardian needs to be accompanied with any child under the age of 18. If the child is able to walk, they will be considered the second person and other visitors won't be allowed in. Cell phones are not allowed in Walton County Jail by any visitor. If they should show up with one they will be criminally charged under the guidelines of Georgia Law.
