Suwannee County Jail is a booking facility for females, juveniles, and males detained by Live Oak police department, Suwannee County Sherriff, or any other law enforcers operating in Suwanee County. Also, the county jail holds inmates who are sentenced to a jail term of less than one year, as well as those who are unable to post bonds or bails set by a court of law. Inmates who are detained due to the inability to post a bond can be released any time they post the bond or bail.
Most inmates detained at Suwanee County Jail have been sentenced on felony or misdemeanour crimes like theft, kidnapping, assault, animal cruelty, transmission of pornographic materials, resisting arrest, and child molestation.
