More Information

St Cloud jail is a Correctional Facility located at 101 11th Ave North of Florida. It serves as a short ā€“ term holding facility for the inmates awaiting trial. Most of them would also be serving sentences of less than a year resulting from minor misdemeanors. Some are likely to stay just for a few days following bail application or based on recognizance. However, the latter must promise to return to court when required.

Despite being small in size, the jailā€™s security level is medium given that it also houses the operations of the Police Department. Its design is that of "pods" with individual cells on two levels. More often than not, the inmates remain indoors with a few occasions of playing games at the pods or watching television. A guard must accompany anyone who wants to leave the pod for whatever reason.

St Cloud jail has vocational training programs. They aim to keep the inmates busy and also instill them with basic skills which they can use after their release. They can also take adult basic education classes and in the long run, earn a GED

The city jail has a strict visiting schedule for inmates. You can visit the inmate any day of the week including federal holidays but at stipulated hours. The prison does not allow entry of cellphones and the visitor must also agree to search activities by the security guards. A family member of the inmate must accompany any visitor below 18 years.

The inmateā€™s relatives can send money to them. However, they must adhere to the stipulated guidelines. The money is for buying their weekly shopping from the commissary and meeting their co-payment part for medical services. More often than not, the jail engages some inmates in various jobs such as laundry and cooking but on some little pay. The payment is deposited in a commissary, an account which houses the inmateā€™s money.

The jail is very passionate about showing the inmates some love. So it encourages the relatives to send them packages. Greeting cards during their birthdays or ideal holidays are also a way of expressing your love for them. There is nothing which gives an inmate excitement than reading a written message of their relatives; however simple it sounds. So donā€™t wait until the moment has passed to say ā€˜I wish I Knew.ā€™
