The Sheridan Detention Center in Sheridan, AR, located in the heart of Grant County, was built in 1998 with funds obtained through a 1% local sales tax. When the doors to the municipal building opened in 1998 the space was small and underdeveloped, however the detention center was expanded in 2000. The Sheridan Police Department is located in the detention center building as well which allows for a more simplified and convenient center for criminal justice operations in the town.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Sheridan Police Department each make use of the space the low/medium security jail utilizes in the town.
