Danville jail was open in October 1985, located in the state of Arkansas, Yell County and city of Danville. The prison has 17 building; the living units consist of three t-type house unit one receiving unit and one t-type housing unit. Danville jail is a medium security adult male prison with high tight security since the building is the operation Centre of PD. Other security facilities consist; security camera installed in the building to monitor the prisoner, electronic detector and police guard armed with mace.

The Danville holds inmates of low-level offences such assaults to high-level crime. It also at as a temporary facility, which holds prisoner serving short-term less than one year, those waiting for their sentences or unable to pay the bail. The jail provides both religious and education program to the inmates. Daily inmates with a minor crime are derived daily waiting for their sentences. Danville jail accepts prisoners from Yell County and its surrounding.

The jail designed into pods consisting sizeable common area with table fixed on the floor and chair attached. The individual cell which houses two –three inmates located in two levels. The prisoner is not allowed to leave the pods unless under supervision or when going to recreation areas, commissary and Medical Centre. The jail workforce is divided inti two; first inside workforce where both female and male inmates provide the services like preparing and serving the food. The second is outside workforce where only the male offers the service like maintains of the playground.

The prisoners are offered three meal and one hour of recreation per day. Visiting days are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 9 pm except on Saturday, Sunday and holidays where visiting ends at 3 pm.no cell phone and personal belonging are not allowed in prison thus visitor have to be searched. A person under community correction supervision or federal probation is not permitted and those below the age of 18 are to be accompanied by a guardian.
